We are excited to announce that Matthew 25 Farm was selected as one of 20 finalists for the Kubota Hometown Proud grant program. This program funds various local projects around the country with two finalists in each region. Finalists are guaranteed to receive at least $10,000 dollars. However, the public gets to vote to select a finalist in each region that will receive a $50,000 grant.
As a finalist, Matthew 25 Farm will receive at least $10,000 dollars towards the goal of expanding our high tunnel production of fresh, healthy vegetables. However, with your votes and support, we have the chance to receive $50,000. We are planning on installing a third high tunnel on the farm this fall. The additional funding from the $50,000 grant would cover a greater portion of our high tunnel construction costs. It would also allow us to install a heating system in the new high tunnel. Currently, we are able to grow from late-April to the end of October. However, having a heated high tunnel would allow us to produce and donate fresh vegetables much later into the winter and get an earlier start in the spring.
To vote for us, please visit https://www.kubotahometownproud.com/
Each person/email address is allowed one vote per day from now until August 14th.
Please vote and share with family, friends, co-workers, etc. to support our mission of helping those with food insecurity in central NY.
Thanks!
